What Do We Mean by the Open Web?

When we talk about the Open Web, we’re referring to any publicly accessible on-line space, eg. not a closed system like Moodle. When students work on the Open Web, their work is widely publicly accessible. The level of interaction with the public can range from allowing them only to view the content to inviting feedback.

Over at LTI, we encourage Open Pedagogy — the wide sharing of teaching and learning materials — and we advocate for giving students authentic learning experiences that encourage them to take responsibility for their own knowledge acquisition.
